simple classics

Do you ever find yourself choosing to wear the same pieces over and over again? I certainly do. This whole outfit happens to be a collection of simple and classic items from my wardrobe. I’ve had them all for quite a while, but I just really love them and keep wearing them in different ways.

From head to toe:

-The white tee is a basic in anyone’s wardrobe. I really like this Mossimo v-neck–it’s so soft, stretchy, and comfortable.

-The lace skirt was a clearance buy last August–I originally bought it for my honeymoon, but I’ve worn it many, many times since then. Navy is my new favorite neutral these days! It’s hard to see the lace in the outfit photos, so here is a close-up:

-The shoes were a recent find from my old bedroom at my parents’ house. Last week, I was sorting through all the high school clothing that has been sitting neglected in my old closet, when I stumbled upon these cognac wedge sandals. Nothing like shopping in your own closet!

-The purse was a gift from my aunt when I graduated from college three years ago. It has been my go-to summer purse ever since. As a bonus, the leather detail is the exact same color as the leather in the sandals I mentioned above.

This ended up being the perfect outfit to hang out with my sisters this past weekend. It was comfy and non-fussy–I tend not to wear jewelry or accessories when I visit my sisters’ houses, as my niece and nephew (both toddlers) love to yank anything dangly or sparkly!  I would love to be able to find a wide belt that would cover the elastic waistband of this skirt though.

  1. I really like that skirt – so pretty! I’m a huge fan of navy as well, and I really like classic pieces that can be worn and reworn a million different ways!!
