I had the hardest time figuring out what I was going to wear today. I must have spent an hour last night trying on different combinations, but nothing seemed “right.” I was definitely having one of those “I have nothing to wear” moments in front of a closet full of clothes!

In the end I decided to go with a dress, just because one piece is simpler than two! I actually really love the colors, pattern, and cut of this dress, which is probably why I have worn it with some frequency since I bought it last December.

This ended up being a perfect outfit for the day I had. All of the dietetic interns had to attend an orientation session at a local dialysis clinic, which consisted of watching training videos for 5 hours. It was supremely boring, but at least I was comfortable for all that sitting!

The bracelet I’m wearing today has some fond memories attached to it. When one of my sisters got married several years ago, I was the maid of honor in her wedding, and this bracelet was the thank-you gift she gave to all her bridesmaids. It has turned out to be a versatile piece of jewelry–it goes with everything!

Because places in the South are notorious for cranking up the air conditioning at this time of year, I brought along a navy cardigan in case I got cold. It’s always good to have an extra layer!

navy-mint-yellow chevron wrap dress {JC Penney}, $30

navy cardigan {thrifted J.Crew}, $4

nude pumps {Target}, $30

silver-gold bracelet, gift

What’s you go-to outfit when you can’t decide what to wear?

  1. that is a really pretty dress! for some reason, i have a harder time finding dresses that meet all of my specifications but i definitely see the value in having dresses like this in a wardrobe! i need to be on the look out for more printed dresses for sure.
