the honeybee

When I first put on the outfit I’m showing you today, I was immediately reminded of my Halloween costume from my junior year of college:

Fancy costume, I know. Ha!

Despite the honeybee connotations, I happen to think yellow and black is a rather striking and fun color combination. Now that I’m no longer afraid of wearing yellow, you might see me wearing this color palette on a more regular basis!

I wore this outfit on a class day as opposed to a day that I would be spending in the hospital. I opted to break in my new pumps on a day when I knew I would have plenty of opportunity to rest my feet 🙂

My cardigan appears to be lopsided in all these pictures, but I’m hoping we can all overlook that and just roll with my still imperfect picture-taking skills 🙂 I think the cardigan is a tad big, but it was a hand-me-down from Mom, so I can’t complain about a free piece of clothing!

I also wore a pretty, pearly pair of earrings to adorn the outfit a little bit.

yellow pin-dot cardigan {Banana Republic Factory}, hand-me-down similar

black eyelet skirt {thrifted Willi Smith}, $4 similar

black leather pumps {BCBGeneration via Amazon}, $20

pearl cluster earrings {Kohl’s}, $9

Would you ever wear yellow and black together?

Before I sign off, I also wanted to ask you all if you like having links to similar clothing items if I can’t find the exact item. Just curious!
