still too hot

This past weekend, it started to feel like fall here in Alabama, so I figured that cooler temperatures were here to stay. I put on an extra layer underneath my lab coat (a cardigan) anticipating a brisk autumn morning…

As it turns out, it still feels like summer around here. I had to take off my cardigan mid-morning because I was overheating (even in the highly air-conditioned hospital).

Maybe someday I’ll get to wear boots and cozy sweaters. Someday. (I know, I know–come January, I’ll be wishing for summer!).

Today was the first time in a long time that I can recall wearing a pink top. Somehow, over recent years, the color pink has almost disappeared from my wardrobe, and I’m not sure why. I love the color! My mom bought this top for me last month on our excursion to Banana Republic Factory, and I can see myself wearing it often–I love my graphic patterns!

As you can see above, I belted the top to add a little interest and to draw in my waist a bit. A belted top underneath a cardigan is one of my favorite looks lately.

I kept the jewelry simple and wore just my silver bow studs. Love these!

pink + white patterned cowl-neck tank {Banana Republic Factory}, $17 similar

black skinny belt {Nine West via Macy’s}, $15 similar

white crew-neck cardigan {Target}, $15 similar

gray dress pants {Banana Republic Factory}, $47 similar

black ballet flats {Bandolino via Macy’s}, $15 similar

silver bow earrings {Kate Spade via Amazon}, gift

Have you gotten to wear your fall favorites yet?
