remembering neutrals

I had some trouble deciding what to wear last night (which is not an uncommon occurrence!). I kept trying to figure out an interesting color combination to try, but nothing was really “working” for me. I finally got the idea to try some neutral pieces, and--ta-da!–an outfit was born!

I guess you could call this another office appropriate rendition of leopard + lace.

I took these pictures at the end of the day (hence the kinda crazy hair in this picture!). I am looking forward to when Daylight Savings Time ends so that there is some natural light in the mornings for picture-taking!

I couldn’t resist adding a little color to the outfit, so I wore my purple belt. By the way, this was my first time tying a “fancy” knot in my belt. I think I like it!

ivory lace top {Banana Republic Factory}, hand-me-down similar

brown dress pants {Banana Republic Factory}, $47 similar

leopard pumps {Target}, $15 similar

purple skinny belt {Target}, $4

white + gold bangle {Charming Charlie}, $4 similar

Do you ever wear an all-neutral outfit?

  1. Way cute, Caroline! I totally wear neutral outfits all the freaking time…but I love it! Wearing neutral pieces and accessorizing with color or print is one of my favorite ways to dress…and you did both here!!

  2. I don’t wear all neutrals too often, and when I do, I often add a pop of color (like my outfit from Thursday). I really like this look– I’ve never belted a tee before, but I like how this turned out! I might have to try it myself!

    • I kind of stumbled upon the idea to belt this top–it’s a hand-me-down from my mom that’s a little big, and I needed a way to define my waist a bit. Belts can work wonders for making an outfit more complete, I think!
