gifted + thrifted

Today’s agenda was what I wish it could always be: morning run, lunch with a friend, and a trip to the grocery store (yes, I actually like grocery shopping!). It was a chilly day, so I bundled up in my wool blazer and scarf:

As I was looking through these pictures, I realized that much of the outfit is either gifted or thrifted! The earrings were a gift from my husband for our first anniversary a few weeks ago, and the scarf was a gift from my parents when they went to Scotland last spring. I think their colors coordinated quite perfectly! The herringbone blazer was a thrift find from last summer.

As you might be able to tell, my scarf-tying skills leave something to be desired. Any tips or suggested tutorials for wearing scarves would be much appreciated!

white scoop neck tee {Target}, $10

gray + black herringbone blazer {thifted Benetton}, $4 similar

boot-cut jeans {LOFT}, old similar

black booties {Impo via Macy’s}, $30

London blue topaz earrings {Tacori}, gift similar

What are some of your favorite gifted clothing items?

  1. this is a great look, and i love the scarf peaking out from underneath your blazer! i’m not that skilled at trying out different scarf techniques either, but this looks great! i like your black booties, too — i would like to find a similar pair to those!
