the perfect polka dot skirt, part II

Some of you may recall a post from this fall in which I complained about not being able to find the perfect polka dot skirt. I sold the one featured in that post and continued the hunt–where else?–on eBay. As luck would have it, I found that Target version in my size a few weeks ago for just $10. SOLD.

Merona® Women's Plus-Size Pencil Skirt - Assorted Prints

I have a zillion ideas in my head for how to wear this uber-cute skirt, but I first wanted to try my own spin on an outfit that Whitney posted back in September. I just really loved the look of the mint, navy, and polka dots together, so I added it to my file of “must try” outfits.

As you can see, I made a few adjustments to the outfit to use the pieces in my own wardrobe and reflect my own personality. Initially, I had tied the belt in my usual knot, but my husband decided he had a better idea and tied it into this cute little bow instead. Nicely done, Seth!

I received a few compliments while I was at the diabetes education center today, so apparently this outfit was a success!

How often do you re-create other bloggers’ looks?
