yellow + polka dots

Polka dots and I go way back. In high school, my entire wardrobe was pretty much just a vision in dots– I had polka dotted shirts, shorts, dresses, skirts, even shoes. The obsession died down a bit once I was in college, and somewhere along the line I got rid of all those polka dotted shirts. Tragic, I know.

Lately, I’ve been wishing I had a simple black and white polka dotted tee. I happened to stumble upon a $12 one at the Loft Outlet last week at the beach, so obviously it came home with me. Here’s my first go at styling it for work:

I chose the gray pants over black ones in order to avoid looking like a bumble bee.

The one drawback to the two Loft Outlet tees I bought is that they’re both quite blousy. In my usual style, I belted it to keep my waist from getting lost in the fabric.

How would you wear a polka dotted tee?

  2. My grandma, who died almost four years ago, used to LOVE polka dots and yellow! This outfit makes me smile because of that 🙂 My “thing” used to be stars. I LOVED stars and whenever I’d see something in the stores with stars on it, I had to buy it. My room was even decorated in stars! So funny…I had kind of forgotten about that!
