lace, stripes, + cobalt

Happy Monday, friends! Just two and a half more weeks until I’m finished with the internship! I started off the week with some positivity by wearing some bright color–specifically, my cobalt ankle pants.

I paired them with a new (to me) top from Loft via ThredUp. I was a little unsure as to whether it was appropriate for work with its black lace detail, but in the end, my desire to wear my new top trumped my concern for the dress code.

Back when I was shopping for my wedding dress about three years ago, I received quite an education in the different types of lace. If I recall correctly, this lace is “eyelash lace” due to its frayed edging. I really like it combination with the bold stripes!

black + white lace stripe tee {Loft via ThredUp*}, $8 (store credit) similar

cobalt ankle pants {Michael Kors via Belk}, $27 similar

black patent leather wedges {CL by Laundry via DSW}, $35

gold boyfriend watch {Charlotte Russe}, hand-me-down similar

Do you think black lace can be work-appropriate?

    • Yes, isn’t ThredUp wonderful? I recently saw that you can pay $20 a year and get free shipping on all your orders. Considering how much I order from them, I’m actually contemplating it.
