navy stripes + radiant orchid

Before I jump into talking about today’s look, I thought I would announce that Tasteful Style has a new URL: tastefulstyleblog.com! Please update your feeds accordingly!

A few weeks ago, Our World Boutique was having a 40% off sale PLUS free shipping on orders over $25. I really love their selection of statement necklaces, so I seized the opportunity to bulk up my “jewelry wardrobe,” so to speak. One of the items was a piece in “radiant orchid,” a color I have come to love in recent months.

When it arrived, I was taken aback at how GINORMOUS it is. I considered returning or re-selling it…but in the end, I decided that I love the color enough to keep it. Plus, I have broad shoulders and am not petite, so I don’t think the necklace overwhelms my frame.

I love the way “radiant orchid” and other hues of purple look with navy. Definitely a new favorite combination!

Would you wear a necklace like this one, or do you think it’s too large-and-in-charge?

  1. Love the color of the necklace! I would definitely wear one like that (and I have one just like it in mint). If it seems like there’s too much bulk around your neck, (and if mine is anything like yours) you could tie it looser. If not, you could get a necklace extender so it hangs slightly lower.
