it’s a girl!

It’s a girl!

Did I trick you? Sorry, I’m not the one who is pregnant. In fact, both of my sisters are pregnant at the moment, one of whom had her gender reveal party yesterday. And, as I predicted, she is indeed having a girl. In the spirit of the “pink or blue?” guessing game, I opted to wear some pink shoes for the occasion.

Another inspiration for this outfit was this pin (originally from Dana’s blog). I loved her simple combination of houndstooth and a pop of pink. While I don’t have a houndstooth dress, I do have a pretty spiffy black + white patterned shift.

I paired the dress with a simple black belt, just to add some shape to the look. Overall, I’m pleased with my re-creation of Dana’s outfit!

  1. Being an aunt is just the best job ever! And I absolutely love this dress. I almost bought it at Target (in every color/print option), but I felt like it was just a teensy bit too short for me. I wish it came in tall sizes!

    • It’s interesting that you mentioned the length. It was a fine length when I tried it on, but that was without the belt. Once I belted it, I felt it was borderline on the appropriateness scale. Hopefully no one called me a hoochie that day.
