snakeskin + navy

There was once a time when I thought that my body type prohibited me from wearing anything other than boot-cut pants. Over the past year or so, I’ve overcome my fear of skinny/straight leg pants such that all my boot-cut dress slacks have been neglected. I decided to break out of my ankle pants/skinny jeans rut and add some of those wider-leg pants back into rotation yesterday.

I kept things pretty neutral color-wise with my tan snakeskin top and shoes, plus a simple gold necklace. This whole outfit is kinda loose and drapey, which may not be all that flattering, but it sure was comfortable!

So which side are you on: skinny or boot-cut?

  1. This is really cute, Caroline! I have a snakeskin print dress that I have only worn with brown so far…I love how your top looks with the navy pants, so perhaps I’ll need to try wearing my dress with navy tights or a navy cardigan or something!!

  2. I’m definitely on the boot cut train. I like skinnies for tucking into jeans, but that’s just about it these days, at least on me. I think something as simple as tucking your top into your pants could make this look more polished!
