the cognac jacket

Y’all. I’ve been waiting for months to wear this jacket. And it’s finally cold enough to do so! I bought it way back in August.

Truthfully, it was so cold, I probably should have worn an even warmer jacket, but I was just so darn excited to break in this one.

The sweater I wore is also worth mentioning. Way back when (OK, last November), I mentioned that I was in need of a new ivory sweater, as my old one was pilling like crazy. I found this one on ThredUp sometime during the summer and bought it with leftover store credit. I think I like this one more than my old one!

I added a pop of leopard too, just for good measure 🙂

cognac faux leather jacket {NY + Company}, $45

ivory sweater {Loft via ThredUp*}, $10 (store credit) similar

olive pants {Wal-Mart}, $11 similar

gold watch {Charlotte Russe}, hand-me-down similar

leopard wedges {CL by Laundry via DSW}, gift

How would you wear a cognac jacket?

*By clicking the ThredUp link provided, you’ll get $10 off your first order! I will also receive a $10 credit for every purchase made through that link.

  1. I don’t have a cognac jacket, but if I did, I imagine I’d wear it like you have here — neutrals all the way! Audrey from Putting Me Together has a cognac jacket and she’s done a great job styling it. You might consider checking out her posts here.

  2. that is a great jacket, caroline, i love the quilted detail along the wrists and the cognac color – you should link up with us next week for our pantone color challenge as cognac is one of the colors and this outfit is perfect! i have never owned a faux leather jacket before but i’m kind of lusting after this one! i hope you get a lot of wear out of it!

  3. Oh my gosh, that jacket is so fantastic, Caroline!! I’ve had a cognac faux leather jacket on my wishlist for AGES and have never been able to find one that I like and can afford. Now that one (and at that price?), I would feel so happy about!!!
