carpe diem

This past weekend, I visited my grandparents down in Florida (hence the lack of post of Friday). They’re 89 and 91 years old, and still sharp as ever. My grandmother in particular is an inspiration to me–she preaches the benefits of healthy eating to anyone who will listen (she is also a dietitian), practices tai chi, and reads dozens of books per year. I’d like to think genetics play a role in longevity, but I’m willing to bet that her passion for learning and love of nutritious food also have something to do with it.

My grandmother also has a favorite saying: “Carpe diem.” Seize the day. Using some of the birthday money she gave me, I bought this tee:

I figured she would approve! I paired it today with my buffalo plaid jacket for a cozy weekend look.

Clearly, I couldn’t really decide if I wanted to wear the jacket buttoned, unbuttoned, or not at all! So I give you all three options ๐Ÿ™‚

How would you wear a buffalo plaid jacket?

  1. I love that tee, Caroline! I’m not a huuuge fan of graphic tees, but this is one I could definitely get behind! It looks super cute with the buffalo plaid jacket as well ๐Ÿ™‚
