winter white (+ more sparkle)

Last night, Seth and I had tickets to a fun holiday show put on by a local theater group. Being the Christmas aficionado that I am, I was already pretty jazzed about the evening, but then I realized I had an excuse to dress up with more sparkle. Christmas + glitter = a fantastic evening in my book.

A little backstory about this dress:

I have an ivory lace top that my mom gave me a while back, and I’ve worn it pretty frequently here on the blog (click here to see all the ways I’ve styled it so far). Then last summer, I had lots of ThredUp credit to burn, and I noticed that they had a dress in the exact same color and pattern of lace–new with tags, no less! So I ordered it and then couldn’t really figure out how I wanted to wear it. Fast forward to December, and here I am wearing it for Christmas. It’s a tiny bit big on me, but it was nothing a little belting couldn’t fix.

I kind of wish I had had this dress when I got married two years ago–it would have made for a perfect reception dress!

The real star of the show was my glitter pumps. My mom found these on the clearance rack at Macy’s last spring sometime, and with her Macy’s card she got them for less than $15. Much like the dress, I really love them but couldn’t figure out a way to wear them. From these pictures, I’m starting to think that the glitter isn’t too obnoxious–they seem to blend in with my (very pale) legs! Maybe glitter is the new neutral?
