return of the french hen

Do you ever avoid wearing very distinctive items too frequently? I certainly do, but I’m not exactly sure why. One such distinctive item is this hen sweater that I received as a gift last year.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s a pretty memorable piece such that people might notice if I started wearing it on a weekly basis. Then again, maybe I’m just paranoid (which is entirely possible). DSC_6353

This time around, I layered a polka dot button-up underneath the sweater. The cropped black pants were a poor choice today–my ankles were freezing!

  1. i feel this way about my animal sweater, but i’m glad you haven’t totally stuffed this sweater to the back of your closet because it’s so cute! i absolutely love it with the polka dot button-down underneath it and the pink flats that match his hat 🙂

  2. I am totally the same way! I think that’s why I don’t have all that many overly-distinctive pieces, because I get so nervous that people will be like, “oh, she JUST wore that!!” I may or may not be a little neurotic. 😉 I love how you pulled out the pink from the hen’s hat with your pink flats!

  3. I know what you mean, but it’s so darn cute – and the color is so cheerful – that it would be tempting to wear all the time! Really cute with the polka dots underneath.
