quilted + jeweled

DSC_6852Several months ago, I was all excited about my new gray dress from Old Navy, mostly because it was such a steal at less than $12. As it turns out, it wasn’t really a steal at all…because I almost never wore it. The dress was just too short and the back showed too much skin for me to feel comfortable wearing it to work, so I recently sent it off to ThredUp*, with hopes of finding something a bit more modest. Enter: this quilted dress from Loft.

DSC_6842I really love the material–it’s a really thin sweatshirt-like fabric. I’m hoping it will be thin enough that I can wear it throughout the year and not just during these chilly winter months. My only complaint about this dress is that it’s a bit big (hence the belt). Is it just me, or does it seem like Loft’s sizing is running bigger than it used to?DSC_6859Anyway, I layered by jewel collar top underneath the dress for an extra bit of warmth and for a little glam!

    • Yes, I much prefer this dress to the last one. The fact that it’s sleeveless does make it better for layering. I’m just hoping that the material doesn’t make it so that I can’t wear it in the warmer months too.

    • Thanks, Danielle! Glad to know I’m not the only one who has noticed that about Loft sizing. I have to wear a smaller size in their stuff than other stores, which is nice for me, but I would imagine it’s frustrating for tiny people.
