not a normal girl

DSC_8167So yesterday afternoon, I got an anxious phone call from my husband that went something like this:

What do you want to do for Valentine’s Day?

Um. I’m up for anything.

Well, every restaurant in town is serving up a prix fixe meal with things like quail and cheesecake, which I know you don’t like. You’re just not a normal girl.”

Astute observation, Seth.

DSC_8157It’s true that as a dietitian, my palate is probably a little different than the average lady’s (I’m aware that not everyone is as enthusiastic about parnsips as I am). So in the end, Seth decided that he is going to prepare a meal for me at home, which I am pretty darn excited about. Maybe I’ll make a batch of this ice cream for dessert!

DSC_8196Oh yeah, I should probably mention why I’m talking about Valentine’s Day. The PMT Style Challenge for this week was to wear pink, red, or purple in honor of the holiday. Obviously, I opted for pink, because, well, I wanted an excuse to wear these pink heels again.

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?

Linking up with Audrey for the PMT Style Challenge!

  1. Not a normal girl huh? The fact that he asked what you wanted to do on VDay is so sweet! Those heels are so pretty. I don’t wear much pink since I exhausted myself of it in high school but pink shoes are something I could definitely get behind!

So since you’re a dietitian, you mentioned having a strange palette. Does that just mean you only eat healthy foods or do you simply not like most things? I mean, quail eggs are disgusting I can agree with you there! I’m just curious what kinds of food you like. Random I know but this post got me curious!

    • Good question! I probably should have made it more clear what I meant in my post. I think I am really accustomed to eating healthy foods after having eaten them for many years, and my desire to eat rich foods has diminished. That being said, I’m not a perfect eater (I don’t think there is such a thing). I still really love chocolate and peanut butter, even better if they’re together! As for cheesecake, that’s just a food I straight-up don’t like.

  2. This outfit is so cute! And it’s super sweet that your husband is cooking for you. We always kind of wing it on Valentine’s Day, but usually avoid the crowded restaurants (or we go to dinner at like 4pm to beat the rush).

  3. Last night we celebrated early by going on a Star Wars run. I got a Jabba bobble head and he got some beef jerky. True love, I tell you. Hope you and Seth have a great day πŸ™‚

  5. Cute, cute, cute! I love this outfit, and the pink heels are such a fun addition! That striped tee is absolutely perfect, by the way πŸ™‚ And I’m with you – I’m not a normal girl in many ways either. I don’t like to be doted on (I’m pretty independent), I’m not super girly, I’d rather vacation in a place with rich history and culture than on a beach, etc.
