the replacement

DSC_9178One of my favorite tops over the past couple of months has been my brown and black polka dot sweater. I originally bought it used, so it’s always been a little worn, but after all the love it’s been getting this winter, it was finally time to give it up. Pilling and bleach stains don’t make much of a fashion statement.

DSC_9124So, I found this top from Lands’ End that’s a pretty close look-alike. It’s not a sweater, but it is a very thick knit, so I’m hoping it will serve the same function in my wardrobe.

DSC_9138Now that I have a replacement, I was pretty psyched to finally re-create this pin. The pin links to the home page of the blog, so I have no idea what the rest of the outfit looked like…so I improvised.

DSC_9113camel + black polka dot tee: Lands’ End, exact, similar // straight jeans: Loft Outlet, similar, similar // black wedges: CL by Laundry via DSW, exact, similar // coral scarf: World Market, exact, similar // gold watch: Fossil via Belk, exact, similar

Do you replace clothing items, or do you prefer to invest in new + different items?

  1. that top is a great replacement for the sweater that you so loved! i’m starting to feel differently about replacing loved items that are way too worn (i have a pair of nude wedges that fit this description) rather than just making do.
