paisley + white

DSC_0516When I bought this top last month, I was so excited about it and certain that I would be able to match its colors to my wardrobe. Well, it turns out that’s not exactly true.

DSC_0509I have a lot of bright colors in my wardrobe (duh), but apparently I don’t own anything in this precise shade or orange, spring green, or dusty blue. So be prepared to see this top with a lot of navy and white!

DSC_0522One of my many peculiarities is that I kind of like things to match exactly–I can’t handle it if the shades are “close but not the same.” Tell me I’m not the only one!

  1. I hate when colors don’t match exactly! The last time I took a chance on a questionable pairing, someone pointed out that it wasn’t the same red in my floral cardigan and my skirt.

  2. I prefer when the colors are the same, but don’t need them to be the exact same. I think you could get away with it. I can definitely see you pairing it with a contrasting color like purple or red though!

  3. glad to see how this top looks on someone! i’m still kind of bummed i missed out on it but i’m glad you’re convinced it has a place in your closet even if you don’t have other colors to match exactly with it (i’m a miss matchy matcherson as well so i completely understand!).

    • Yes, I decided that I have enough navy and white bottoms, that I could feasibly make several different outfits out of it. And maybe I’ll check out Charming Charlie for some inexpensive accessories to coordinate with the other colors.
