neon floral + chambray

DSC_2505Although I bought these floral shorts several weeks ago (I mentioned them in my June budget post), I’m just now getting around to wearing them. I actually had assumed that I would have to wait until next spring to wear them, as my belly has grown quite a bit lately. I was pleasantly surprised though when I tried them on–they fit! Even better, I discovered that they’re actually from Gap’s talls section, which gives them a little extra length.

DSC_2493While I love this print, I’m finding that I really don’t have many tops that match the colors in it. The best I could do for this first go-around was a chambray shirt and a peachy/orangey belt. What tops would you wear with these shorts?

DSC_2468light chambray button-up: Old Navy, similar, similar // floral shorts: Gap via Poshmark*, similar, similar // white wedge sandals: Chaps via Kohl’s, very similar, similar // gold watch: Fossil via Belk, exact, similar // coral belt: Merona via Target, similar, similar

  1. Personally, I’l probably go the predictable route and either wear a shirt with similar colours to one of the pattern colours, or a black or white t-shirt with matching shoes. You could try pattern mixing? Maybe a navy and white breton top, or a gingham button up? Either way, I like chambray with it.

  2. oh, this great print from gap will forever haunt me! i love it in the shorts version as much as i do the dress version, and they look great on you! i think the chambray is a perfect complement to the floral print, caroline!
