remix it: the cognac jacket

Let me preface this post with an apology–normally I post these remix posts on the first Wednesday of every month, but last week, I just plum forgot. September really snuck up on me this year!

Anyway, now that autumn is near, I figured a good piece to feature today would be my cognac faux leather jacket. It’s a great transitional piece from summer to fall (although I tend to wear it almost year-round!). Here’s a look at how I’ve styled it in the year I’ve owned it.

What stands out to me about the looks here is that I consistently pair this jacket with colored pants. That’s kind of shocking to me–wouldn’t you think I would have paired it with a regular pair of denim at some point?! I’ll have to add that to my outfit idea queue for the fall. I’m also thinking it would be fun to try wearing this jacket with a dress in the future. Clearly, I’ve barely even scratched the surface of the versatility of this piece!

  1. Loooove this! I’ve wanted a a cognac faux leather jacket for AGES but haven’t found “the one” yet. My assistant principal at school has one and wears it with a lot of black things, and it looks so striking! She also wore hers recently with a black/cream polka dot blouse and maroon ankle pants – adoooorable 🙂 I can’t wait to see you dress the jacket down a bit with some jeans 🙂

    • Oh my goodness, I love the sound of that outfit you described! I’ll have to find something similar on Pinterest so I can remember to re-create it at some point. I bet you could find some good deals on faux leather jackets these days–they’re already trying to get rid of all the fall stuff in stores!
