To keep things from being completely boring, I opted not to remix my navy skirt yesterday and instead “pass on” the olive cardigan. I’m a big fan of olive + black + white, so I went for that color palette today.
This look served me well through a pretty routine day of data collection and phone calls. My one gripe is that in looking at these photos, this dress is a wee bit shorter than I would prefer for work. I honestly think that it’s my boobs that are taking up extra fabric and thus bringing up the hem a bit. So once I stop breastfeeding, maybe I’ll feel a bit less scandalous in this dress.
In my last budget post, I mentioned that I had stalked this blush blanket scarf for months before finally getting it for a steal. I had presumed that I would have to wait until next winter to wear it, but as luck would have it, there was a rare cold snap last month–so obviously I wore the scarf that day.
I am a big fan of the black + white + blush color combination, so don’t be surprised if you see it often (particularly in light of how many blush items I bought last month!).
In a recent budget post, I mentioned that I “upgraded” my chambray blazer using some ThredUp credits. I’ve been wearing it quite a bit in the last few weeks (although not necessarily for looks that make it on the blog). I love that it’s just as versatile as a denim jacket but a bit more polished and professional looking.
For this outfit, I copied one of Fran’s past looks by pairing the blazer with a floral top and black pants. It’s not a combination I would have come up with on my own, but I like the way it turned out. #pinterestwin
A few weeks ago, Seth’s coworkers were kind enough to put together a belated baby shower for us. Because Caleb was born around Christmas time, I guess our happy arrival kind of got forgotten amidst the holiday chaos. (I hate to break it to you kid, but that’s how your birthday will be for the rest of your life!).
It worked out well though because Caleb got to come to his own baby shower! Here’s what he wore:
