In case you haven’t noticed, flutter sleeves are kind of having a moment right now; it seems most tops these days have a little flutter and/or ruffle action going on. I resisted the trend for a while, as I have pretty broad shoulders, and I wasn’t too keen on adding volume to that part of my body. But when this pom-pom trimmed dress caught my eye, and it just so happened to have some flutter sleeves too, I decided to try out the trend.
To be honest, the sleeves are a bit more voluminous than I’d like, but the dress was final sale…so I’m living with them. I still like the dress though; it’s a fun change of pace from my usual stripes and chambray. On this particular day, I kept things pretty simple by sticking with black and a touch of metallic for accessories.
So, what do you think? Does this dress make me look like a linebacker? How would you wear a dress like this?
It’s been a while since my last outfit post! As you might expect, Caleb has been taking up much of my attention these days, so I haven’t exactly put together any “blog-worthy” outfits (translation: I’ve been living in jeans and haven’t put on makeup for ten days).
That being said, I felt it was important to put together a festive look for Christmas. And what’s more festive than plaid?
Amazingly, I didn’t even need to wear tights with this look, as it’s currently 75 degrees on Christmas Eve. Crazy!
This past weekend, my family gathered to celebrate a special occasion: my sweet nephew Tommy was baptized!
I had been planning on wearing this comfy houndstooth dress for weeks…only to discover that it was a bit tight when it came time to get dressed. I didn’t really have time (or any other dresses to choose from) to change my outfit, so I just rolled with it. Oh, the joys of an ever-growing belly!
This time of year is always full of celebrations in our household–my niece’s birthday, Thanksgiving, and, most pertinent to this post, our wedding anniversary. It’s a little shocking that Seth and I have already been married for three years. Time flies when you’re having fun, right?
To celebrate the occasion, we just enjoyed a nice dinner at Seasons 52. It wasn’t exactly a wild and crazy night, considering I couldn’t even partake in some celebratory champagne (#pregnancyprobs), but it was fun to get dressed up for each other and eat delicious food 🙂
I wore my one and only “nice” maternity dress that my mom bought for me back in July to wear to a wedding. Let’s just say that it fits much differently than it did when I tried it on for the first time, haha! Nonetheless, I’m glad I got at least one more wear out of it before the end of my pregnancy.
