Take One, Pass It On: Week 4 Recap

Well, by the fourth week of this challenge, this way of dressing has finally started to come more naturally. I spent less time planning outfits this week, but I’m still pretty pleased with the results. Sure, there are tweaks I would make for the next time around, but I think I achieved a good balance of trying new looks while still maintaining my sense of personal style. I’ll expand on my experience of this challenge as a whole when I finish out the month on Wednesday!

I have to say, I am so delighted that the weather has cooled down enough for me to wear pants on a regular basis. This change makes getting dressed at least a little bit easier! Given that information, it should come as no surprise that I opted to remix my navy ankle pants for today’s look.

This time around, I paired them with a navy + white print top that I’ve had for quite some time, yet I’ve never featured it on the blog. It’s somewhat unique in my closet, as I don’t gravitate toward v-necks–I have no idea why; I just like crew and scoop necks! This outfit ended up being pretty well-suited to the day I had in that I ended up having to do quite a bit of walking due to my own scatter-brained mistakes. I managed to forget some paperwork in my office, then leave my phone in my office upon retrieving said paperwork. I’m telling myself that I’m just off my game because Caleb has been sick…I need my routine back!

And the infatuation with navy blue continues. I definitely go through phases in terms of my favorite neutral, and I’m in my (navy) blue phase right now. Looking back at my archives, it seems that navy blue is a color I tend to favor in the fall.

Anyway, this infatuation is perhaps why I chose to pair yesterday’s blush top with navy blue pants. I added my pearl necklace, as I’ve seen a similar look on Fran and loved it. This outfit worked out fine for a day of working from home for half the day–the kiddo is still sick. Fingers crossed he can head back to daycare tomorrow…

a little crazy

DSC_7906My outfit choice for today is uncharacteristically bold–I mixed stripes and polka dots. I might look really fashion forward…or I might look a little crazy.

DSC_7888I’ve owned this vest for well over a month now, and I had yet to wear it when I started planning outfits for the week. I was on a mission to incorporate the vest into one of my looks, and when I discovered how well it matched my polka dot sweater, I couldn’t resist pairing the two pieces together.

DSC_7912So what’s the verdict: cute or crazy?
