gold, green, coral

DSC_8479Today’s outfit features one of my very favorite color combinations: gold, (olive) green, and coral.

DSC_8471I’m pretty sure I originally got the idea from this pin, from way, way back. Thanks, Audrey!

DSC_8484Now I’m trying to think of more ways to wear this color palette throughout the spring…any ideas?

needs improvement

DSC_6714I pinned this look several months ago, but I had been “saving” it as an outfit idea until after pregnancy. I finally decided to re-create the look last week…only to discover that the pieces in my closet could use a little updating.

DSC_6708In fact, it was this outfit that prompted the creation of my shopping list post last week. As you can see, both the pants and the denim jacket are looking a little tired (OK, and I am too–a one-month old infant will do that to you!). As a result, the re-created outfit is not quite what I imagined it would be. Whomp, whomp. I guess I’ll have to try again once I’ve found the perfect items from my wishlist!

oversized

DSC_5845They might not be the most flattering things for a woman who is 8+ months pregnant…but I gotta say that I am loving oversized cardigans these days. I’m pretty sure that this tribal sweater makes me look ginormous, but I really don’t care.

DSC_5835On this particular day, I decided to style this cardigan in a way similar to one I saw on Pinterest–with a gray tee and olive pants. I liked everything about the Pinspiration photo except the shoes–strappy sandals don’t really make sense with a chunky cardigan (at least to me). So I swapped out the fancy shoes for–what else?–black wedges.

bootie season

DSC_5547I gotta say–I’m pretty excited that it’s finally cool enough around here to wear boots and booties! I was getting pretty bored with my usual sandals and wedges.

DSC_5542For the momentous occasion of “first time wearing boots since March,” I chose my beloved cognac ankle boots. They always pair well with leopard, so I threw on a leopard scarf, along with my neutral staples. I actually kind of regretted the scarf in the end–I had to give a presentation that day, and I was so sweaty by the end of it! Performance anxiety + scarves = bad combination.
