Take One, Pass It On: Day 26

DSC_0072

To keep things from being completely boring, I opted not to remix my navy skirt yesterday and instead “pass on” the olive cardigan. I’m a big fan of olive + black + white, so I went for that color palette today.

This look served me well through a pretty routine day of data collection and phone calls. My one gripe is that in looking at these photos, this dress is a wee bit shorter than I would prefer for work. I honestly think that it’s my boobs that are taking up extra fabric and thus bringing up the hem a bit. So once I stop breastfeeding, maybe I’ll feel a bit less scandalous in this dress.

Take One, Pass It on: Day 25

DSC_0055So, are you sick of seeing me in navy blue yet? Yes, I’m wearing it again today, but at least this time I’m pairing it with a different color: olive green. I’m a big fan of the navy/olive combination, even if I don’t seem to wear it all that often.

DSC_0048This cardigan is a new-ish item in my closet, and I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. The particular shade of green has a bit more yellow/brown undertones than I would prefer, but I think I can make it work. Hopefully it doesn’t remind you too much of baby poop (or is that just me?). Regardless, I was very glad to have this cardigan today as I sat through a dissertation defense (not mine, obviously) and a few meetings–the air conditioning was downright frigid. #summerinthesouth

Take One, Pass It On: Day 22

Here we are, at the start of another week of this challenge! I’ll be remixing some different pieces this week, largely because I’m starting to transition into the fall (even if the weather isn’t). For today’s look, I remixed my olive shorts.

Technically, I’ve shared this look with you before…it was just a maternity version (which I wore almost exactly a year a go. Weird.). I wore that outfit quite a bit during my pregnancy, so I decided to recreated it with a non-maternity top (and no belly band!). It served me well for the day’s activities–Caleb was baptized yesterday, so we had my whole family over to celebrate and swim in our pool. It was definitely a great way to enjoy the afternoon.

Take One, Pass It On: Day 12

Hooray! It’s Friday! As indicated by my level of dishevelment in these photos, this week has been rough. Let’s just say that an interdisciplinary project makes for lots e-mails…and lots of stress.

As for this outfit, I think I liked it in theory better than in reality. There’s just a bit too much fabric in the top, which accounts for the weird way it drapes on me in these photos (that, and I didn’t look in the mirror before I took photos…). I’m also not sold on the detail on the sleeves. I know I’m boring–but I just like things to be plain sometimes. Harumph.
