Take One, Pass It On: Day 29

I’ve made it to the home stretch of this challenge! For the look I’m sharing today, I predictably remixed my navy + pink print shorts.

I wore this look for a day of house hunting (ugh) and celebrating my sister’s birthday. For the record, it’s still a bit too hot for my chambray shirt–I ended up changing into a navy tee in the middle of the afternoon.

DSC_0055So, are you sick of seeing me in navy blue yet? Yes, I’m wearing it again today, but at least this time I’m pairing it with a different color: olive green. I’m a big fan of the navy/olive combination, even if I don’t seem to wear it all that often.

DSC_0048This cardigan is a new-ish item in my closet, and I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. The particular shade of green has a bit more yellow/brown undertones than I would prefer, but I think I can make it work. Hopefully it doesn’t remind you too much of baby poop (or is that just me?). Regardless, I was very glad to have this cardigan today as I sat through a dissertation defense (not mine, obviously) and a few meetings–the air conditioning was downright frigid. #summerinthesouth

I have to say, I am so delighted that the weather has cooled down enough for me to wear pants on a regular basis. This change makes getting dressed at least a little bit easier! Given that information, it should come as no surprise that I opted to remix my navy ankle pants for today’s look.

This time around, I paired them with a navy + white print top that I’ve had for quite some time, yet I’ve never featured it on the blog. It’s somewhat unique in my closet, as I don’t gravitate toward v-necks–I have no idea why; I just like crew and scoop necks! This outfit ended up being pretty well-suited to the day I had in that I ended up having to do quite a bit of walking due to my own scatter-brained mistakes. I managed to forget some paperwork in my office, then leave my phone in my office upon retrieving said paperwork. I’m telling myself that I’m just off my game because Caleb has been sick…I need my routine back!

If this week of blog posts were an album, it would be “Summer 2016 Greatest Hits”–all of my outfits seem to be ones I’ve worn several times over the course of the past few months. Today’s look is no exception. Although this skirt is unlike anything else in my closet, I really do like it. There are a few different shades of blue in it, making it a good match for cobalt or navy blue. The pattern is interesting too; it reminds me of one of those Magic Eye posters from ’90s.

So, this was a good outfit on a bad day. I had a productive morning and was definitely in a work fugue…when daycare called. Caleb has a fever and mysterious rashes on his chest and arms. Mommy duty calls. Now I’m working from home, while keeping an eye on him and waiting for our doctor’s appointment. Fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious and that my baby feels better soon!
