gray + polka dots

DSC_5367Apparently, I have under-appreciated gray as a wardrobe neutral up until this point. How have I gone so long without realizing the wonders of a simple gray tee? We may never know.

DSC_5361Ever since I got this gray maternity tunic/tee on sale at Target I’ve been wearing it with everything from jeans to my crazy coral pants to my olive chinos. It goes with everything, I tell you.

DSC_5377This time around, I paired it with jeans and a polka dot scarf…plus a little pop of burgundy for good measure 🙂

shades of gray

DSC_4376For as much as I love the way these gray maternity pants fit me, I can’t seem to think of many ways to wear them. Perhaps it’s because they’re a dressier professional pant, whereas most of my maternity tops are pretty casual? Regardless, I struggled to come up with this outfit last week.

DSC_4360In the end, I decided to go with one of my (yes I have multiple) jewel-collar shirts and some metallic pumps. Sadly, this button-up will have to join the ranks of the rest of my regular wardrobe until further notice–my belly is a bit too big to wear it comfortably anymore. Sad face.

DSC_4375How would you style a pair of gray dress pants? This girl needs inspiration!

fancy pants

DSC_3684Before I was pregnant, I had been searching for a pair of well-fitting, slim-cut, gray work pants. I tried on a lot of pairs…to no avail. Doesn’t it just figure that when I get pregnant, I magically find a maternity pair that fits like a dream? They have stretchy side panels (as opposed to the under-the-belly or over-the-belly kind), so I wonder if anyone would notice if I kept wearing them post-partum. I won’t tell if you won’t.

DSC_3668For this first wear into the world, I decided to go the professional route and pair the pants with a ruffle-neck blouse.

DSC_3695The blouse is indeed maternity, but you’d never know it considering how tight it is on my belly. Check out my ever-growing bump!

pindots

DSC_3435As far as maternity pieces go, this dress has to be one of my favorites. After all, it incorporates two of my favorite things–navy blue and pindots. Plus, I think it’s a pretty classic piece that will be easy to style throughout the fall and winter.

DSC_3432So be prepared to see this dress on repeat from now until December 17th.

DSC_3439This time around, I fancied it up a bit with my pearl studs and some neutral accessories.I felt like such a lady while I stocked up on bananas and eggs 😉
