close, but no

I was scrolling through Pinterest a few nights ago and came across this lovely look from LuLu’s. I’m on a bit of a mustard/marigold kick these days, so I immediately pinned it to be re-created somehow with items in my own closet.

The kicker is, I have no dress in that color. I tried to make it work with my sunshine yellow skirt, but the end result was kind of meh. I guess I’ll just have to include that dress in my next wishlist post! I’m thinking it would be cute with a denim jacket and leopard flats. How would you wear a mustard yellow dress?

Take One, Pass It On: Day 1

After a few months off, I’m feeling the itch to return to this space. As my budget posts reflect, I’ve still been shopping and enjoying getting dressed over the past few months, but the motivation to take blog photos has been noticeably absent. However, I’ve been bingeing on new (to me) blogs, as well as old favorites, and it has made me want to mix and match my wardrobe a bit. Plus, Sarah mentioned that she might host a Take One, Pass It On link-up this month, so I seized the opportunity to get my sartorial creative juices flowing again.

So, here we are with Day 1. This is what I wore yesterday (Sunday) for a quiet day at home. Seth and I pretty much did nothing but seek air-conditioned refuge from the hideous heat wave we’ve been having. The highlight of the day was making Caleb his first batch of blueberry pancakes. He loved them…and made a giant mess. #bloobjuiceeverywhere
