olive and ivory…2 years later

One of my favorite color combinations for pretty much any season is olive + ivory + brown. The combination just seems so classic and very “me” every time I wear it. That’s why you can find it throughout the archives: here, here, here, here, here.

Anyway, today’s looks a a do-over of one I wore back in January 2015. As you can see, this version includes a similar dress, an olive cardigan, and sandals instead of boots. I’m thinking this dress will be on repeat this fall because it is SO comfy and the perfect length. I might need to devote a post to brainstorming new ways to wear it…any ideas?

another summer favorite

I recently showed you an outfit that I’ve worn about ten times this summer…and today’s look also falls under that category. I bought this top on a whim a few months ago, and I’ve ended up wearing it pretty often this summer–love it when my impulse purchases work out like that!

One drawback of this shirt is that it has a zipper on the back, extending from between my shoulder blades up to the neck, a placement that is exceedingly difficult to reach. On this particular day, Seth had already left for work, so I just had to do some gymnastics to get the shirt zipped by myself. It took a few minutes, but I did it–so even if I accomplished nothing else that day, at least I can be proud of myself for that. Ha!

summer weekends

To be frank, this outfit isn’t all that exciting, but I’ve worn some variation of it at least ten times this summer, so I figured it deserved a post on the blog. I think the reason I love it so much is due to the comfort of the shorts–they’re about a size and a half too big, which leaves plenty of room for delicious meals at restaurants 🙂 The shorts are also a good starting point for choosing different tops; thus far, I’ve also worn them with gray, green, and chambray (see that look here).

This particular summer weekend was spent taking Caleb to the library, enjoying lunch at Zoe’s, browsing through my favorite thrift and consignment stores, and watching a few episodes of Ozark.

How did you spend your weekend?

one-trick pony

First outfit, post-challenge…and I’m sticking with my beloved neutral + red + leopard combination. I’m a one-trick pony, apparently.

I bought this top in early July, and for some reason I am just now getting around to wearing it. Verdict: it’s a winner. I love the color, lightweight material, and adorable button detail:

I wish they had it in some other colors, like black or ivory.

Anyway, this will likely be the last time I wear anything “blog-worthy” for a few days, as we are taking a short vacation down to a nearby lake. While there, I tend to wear nothing but workout clothes, or maybe jean shorts + a tee, if I’m feel fancy. Although I won’t be taking outfit photos, hopefully I’ll remember to document a few of our adventures on IG!
